Last week, I came across a whole slew of articles on finding your passion, + what to do with it once you’ve found it. Which seemed lucky, as they were providing answers I was looking for + information I wanted to share, record, think about, process. But at the end of the week, that was it, + I wasn’t sure where to go from there.
Well, it’s Monday morning, + I have about four or five tabs open with articles, blogs + sites that I want to delve into…all very uplifting, with messages of growth, inner-peace, + hopefulness.
So I’m going to try a new thing – we’ll see how it goes. When it seems that themes are starting to appear in a week’s worth of blog readings + postings, I’ll wrap up the week with a ‘lesson’ – well, less a lesson, maybe more along the lines of observations of what the week’s been all about.
Finding your passion isn’t as straight-forward as you would hope. It take courage, to see past the expectations of others, to see past your own insecurities, to really embrace that which resonates strongly with your soul. I had a bit of an epiphany this morning, as I was heading into town to do some work…but I’m going to keep it to myself for a little while. Savour it a bit…see how it feels, + how well it sticks. Work towards it quietly, rather than make some big, bold statements I can’t live up to just yet.
The only person we need to be held accountable to for our own happiness is ourselves. I do try to make life decisions based on how I want to look back on my life. I don’t want to spend my life in a job that it isn’t fulfilling, + won’t inspire my kids to find their passion. Being true to myself will probably be the best legacy I can leave my kids, + their kids, + so on. Well, just a thought.
It’s ok not to know what your passion is, but you need to take steps to find out what it is…to not be afraid of living the life you want to live. commit to being authentic. + commit to working hard in every pursuit. Getting great isn’t going to be easy, just because you love it.
So let’s see…
